Hugh Hunter

Hugh Hunter

President & Secretary

Hugh Hunter is the President and Secretary of RCW Canada Inc., which he established to create a dedicated, Canadian-focused source of cut-to-length elevator products for contractors and maintenance teams across the country. With over 35 years in the Canadian elevator industry, Hugh brings a depth of market knowledge that few can match.

His career began at thyssenkrupp, where he spent 22 years as Sales Manager — building long-standing relationships with elevator contractors and gaining first-hand knowledge of the products and demands of the Canadian vertical transportation market. He then joined Wurtec as Business Development Manager for Canada, spending over 13 years introducing specialty tools and technical products to the elevator trades nationwide.

Hugh founded RCW Canada in early 2025 with a clear vision: a reliable, fast-shipping Canadian source for the wire rope, travel cable, compensation chain, shackles, and other critical components that contractors need — cut to spec and ready to ship. His deep knowledge of the Canadian market means he understands the urgency of shutdown situations, and built RCW Canada specifically to solve them.

Kevin Heling

Kevin Heling

Vice President - Business Development, Marketing & Sales

Kevin Heling is Vice President of Business Development, Marketing & Sales at RCW Canada Inc., bringing over 40 years of experience in elevator component supply across North America. Kevin joined forces with Hugh Hunter in January 2026, contributing deep expertise in wire ropes, travelling cables, and Category 5 safety testing.

Kevin's career spans some of the most respected names in elevator component supply. He served as President and General Manager of Brugg Wire Rope, LLC, where he turned around a struggling operation, tripled market share, and quadrupled sales. Over a decade at Wurtec Inc., he advanced to Senior Sales & Specialty Products Director, leading the introduction of technology-based products and supporting contractors through adoption. Earlier in his career he held progressive roles at Draka Elevator Products and SIECOR Republic Wire & Cable, giving him wide expertise across both electrical cable and steel wire rope.

Kevin is a recognized technical authority in the field. He holds the QEI (Qualified Elevator Inspector) designation (Certificate C-6667), is a member of the NAESA Board of Certification, and has served on ASME A17 Elevator Safety code committees. He has authored numerous technical articles for Elevator World — covering traction hoist ropes, sheave groove wear, electronic inspections, and rope inspection — and brings hands-on Category 5 testing field experience that is invaluable to contractors navigating five-year safety test requirements. Kevin holds an MS in Industrial Relations and a BA in Journalism from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
